Stallion Honors​

 Governor's Achievement Award

     2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006

To receive this prestigious award, schools must have achieved the Standard of Excellence in both reading and mathematics. Additionally, the school must have made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in both reading and mathematics and one additional measure. For elementary schools that measure is attendance. The school must have been among the top 5 percent of schools in both reading and mathematics on the state assessments at its respective level.

 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School of Excellence

     2004

The Blue Ribbon School Program honors elementary and secondary schools that make significant progress in closing the achievement gap, recognizing those schools that have at least 40 percent of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds and have dramatically improved student performance to high levels in reading and mathematics.  The program also recognizes schools whose students achieve in the top 10 percent.  Schools are nominated, based on state assessments, in reading and math by the Kansas Commissioner of Education and invited to apply by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

The Horizon Award Program, sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education, recognizes teachers who have successfully completed their first year of teaching and have performed in such a way as to distinguish themselves as outstanding.

Emporia State University established the Kansas Master Teacher awards in 1953.  The awards are presented annually to teachers who have served the profession long and well and who also typify the good qualities of earnest and conscientious teachers.

The Kansas State University Distinguished Cooperating Teacher Award recognizes cooperating teachers who exhibit exemplary mentoring to preservice teachers.
