Stephen Green became the Science Engineering and Technology (SET) Academy Principal in the summer of 2006. Mr. Green started his career as an educator in White City, Kansas where he taught science and coached for six years. He continued his teaching and coaching career in Junction City in 2001; where he taught science in the Freshman Success Academy for five years before becoming an administrator.
During his years as a teacher Mr. Green has taught Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics and he helped coach football, basketball, track, and golf.
Mr. Green graduated from Emporia High School before attending Kansas State University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in the College of Education in 1994. While teaching he attended Graduate School at KSU and earned a Master of Science in Educational Administration and Leadership in 2001.
Among some of his duties as a Principal Mr. Green is responsible for the SET Academy, State Testing, and Safety Drills. He is also the administrator for JROTC, the Science Department, the Technical Education Department, and AVID. He serves on many committees including the Core Planning Team, the Secondary Tech Task Force, and the AVID Site Team.
Mr. Green and his family are proud to call Junction City home. His wife, Lyn Green, is and Administrator at Junction City Middle School and they have two children who attend schools in the district.
