Parents as Teachers


This home-based early childhood parent education and family support program is designed to
help parents give their children the best possible start in life. The program serves children ages prenatal/birth through kindergarten entry. Parent Educators (through weekly/monthly home visits) provide parents with:

  • information on child development

  • playgroups – held at the Early Childhood Center twice a week

  • encouragement and ideas for parent-child activities that enhance language development and intellectual growth

  • activity ideas to help a child’s social development and motor skills

Parents as Teachers also partners with the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library and other community partners

Hours: Scheduled by appointment.
Evenings visits available.

Parents As Teachers is a no-cost, early learning program for parents, grandparents and guardians whose children are birth to Kindergarten. Fun learning activities and developmental information is shared during home visits, playtimes and group meetings.
