On Friday, September 14th, Seitz Elementary was officially opened to the community and students of the Forsyth housing district located on Ft. Riley.
The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony saw attendees from around the nation including the Forsyth area, Ft. Riley, the Department of Defense, Picerne Military Housing and the staff, students and administration of USD 475.
Of course LTG Richard Seitz (retired) was also in attendance and along with giving the headlining speech, cut the ribbon that officially opened the school (along with two students from Seitz).

Curriculum Changes Ahead

Mounting excitement and considerable work are changing K-12 curriculum and instruction in USD 475 on the way to the implementation of the nationwide Common Core Standards in Mathematics and Literacy. These new, more rigorous Common Core Standards are designed to better prepare United States' students with the knowledge and skills to enable them to be successful in colleges or careers as they leave high school.
